For me, the perfect canon digital slr camera!

About 15 years I now take pictures even with SLR cameras. Before the EOS 20d with the EOS 620, I had one of the first EOS camera with auto focus. Digital photography has long irritated me with their unbeatable advantage of direct recording of control and the elimination of film and development costs.
In addition to the absolute image control through the viewfinder and flexibility through the various lenses I had grown accustomed to a non-existent shutter lag. With most digital cameras, the EOS 20d ago I had my hands in both the switch-on and the shutter lag has prevented from making a purchase.

With the EOS 20d, but after turning the camera is ready to shoot well (when you tap the shutter from sleep mode) and shutter lag is not noticeable.

The case makes a very solid feel and fits comfortably in your hand. Unlike the EOS 300d, the 20d has a thumbwheel that significantly simplifies many settings.

The 8 megapixel sensor offers a high reserve even for enlargements in poster format.

I like taking pictures at concerts and mostly indoors. Even when shooting with my EOS 20d and high sensitivity (800 or 1600 ASA), there is no noise. Films with the same sensitivity to show a lot more granularity.

The built-in flash pops up higher than with other cameras, which minimizes the risk of red eyes. He goes for shooting at close range, for example, at parties and family celebrations.

A major advantage over the analog photography is the automatic or manual white balance. Thus, the color temperature can be selected in a particular area and to avoid color casts.

Also, the EOS 20d brings a black and white mode with different filters and toning methods with the same.

The EOS 20d offers scene modes for beginners, such as sports or portrait, and for the professional creative applications of the program, aperture priority and aperture priority, and a complete manual control.

The EOS 20d uses the speed advantage of the modern compact flash cards, for example, from SanDisk (Ultra II and Extreme) from offering and describes them very quickly. Thus a higher frequency can be achieved in continuous shooting. In addition, the USB 2.0 standard is supported already. This allows the images to a compatible PC or notbook read much faster from the camera. However, I usually use an external card reader, which saves the camera battery.

On a 1 GB Compact Flash Card fit over 200 JPG images with high resolution and over 350 medium-resolution JPG images. The standard battery is sufficient without the built-in flash of the EOS 20d is used loosely for more than 500 recordings.

It should be noted however, that the EOS 20d, like most digital Spiegelrefleskameras no full frame sensor, but a small CMOS sensor in the APS format. This gives a focal length extension factor of 1.6. That is, from my standard zoom lens EF 28-135 mm IS / USM, a telephoto lens Zomm of 45-216 mm. But since I like the slight telephoto photographing such as portraits, this effect seems to me contrary to much.

I would take again and again, the set of EOS 20d + EF-S 18-55 mm. The surcharge for the standard zoom lens is not so high and when they do once a landscape or monuments want to shoot on vacation, I have a slight wide-angle object in reserve.
